What is URSA?
The office of Undergraduate Research & Scholarly Activity (URSA) is ÎÞÂëÂÒÂ×'s resource for the development and promotion of experiential learning activities that engage undergraduate students to support ÎÞÂëÂÒÂ×'s goal to become a leading student-focused research university.
Undergraduate research and creative activity at ÎÞÂëÂÒÂ× covers all disciplines, from climate sciences to music, engineering, anthropology, life sciences, art and theater.

2024 Spring Student Project Awards
Applications open October 2, 2023.Undergraduate students planning to pursue creative projects or conduct research during the Spring 2024 semester are invited to apply for Student Project funding up to $3,000 for individuals and up to $6,000 for group applicants.
Accepting applications October 2 - November 5, 2023.

Individual undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines at the University of Alaska are eligible and invited to apply for an award of $2,500 to support their research using the Alaska and Polar Regions Collections & Archives (APRCA) at the Elmer E. Rasmuson Library. One award is available annually.
Accepting applications October 2 - November 5, 2023.

Rolling Acceptance
Travel funds support students presenting research or creative activity outcomes at a conference, meeting or congregation of their peers/professionals in their respective field, as well as students partaking in competitions.
Virtual event registration fees are also eligible for funding.

Rolling Acceptance
Undergraduate students with confirmed unpaid or minimally paid internships are invited to apply for URSA’s Internship Award.
Internships Applications are eligible for up to $3,000 for a Fall- or Spring-term internship or $6,000 for a Summer-term internship.
Students must have a secured opportunity in order to apply for funding.

2024 Research and Creative Activity (RCA) Day
This annual event allows students to showcase their scholarly experiences from the current academic year through posters, presentations, creative displays, and public performances. Both URSA-funded and non-URSA students are encouraged to participate. All ÎÞÂëÂÒÂ× students, faculty, staff, and the community at large are invited to attend.
