The is a Land, Sea, and Space Grant university and an international center for research, education, and the arts, emphasizing the circumpolar North and its diverse peoples. integrates teaching, research, and public service as it educates students for active citizenship and prepares them for lifelong learning and careers.
Accredited since 1934

was the first university in Alaska to achieve accreditation nearly 90 years ago and was reaffirmed in February of 2021.  The current accreditation cycle is reaching it's third year and preparations are long underway for the Mid-Cycle Self-Evaluation and Campus Peer Review.
